While I haven't personally had problems (Ryzen 1600, Radeon 7970, 16GB RAM, SSD), many have reported performance issues with the game, him included. I think this could be resolved fairly easily from a programming perspective, but there might be issues from a UI/UX perspective that is preventing the Arena team from implementing it. The deckbuilder is woefully lacking in features we've become used to on more advanced clients like MTGO and web sites like tappedout. Red flags are hard limits that make the play experience extremely difficult and ultimately led him to quit. Yellow flags are minor gripes that hampered his play experience, but are forgiveable. I'll list a few of his problems sorted into what I'll call yellow and red flags. The EDH player didn't continue with Arena because it simply lacks the format he prefers, but the Standard player is who really got me thinking about how Arena can be improved. Of the two that started playing and stopped, one plays paper Standard semi-competitively, and the other only plays EDH, cEDH, and more recently Oathbreaker. Two out of the five of us play Arena regularly (myself included), two tried it and stopped playing, and one is so invested in MTGO that she never gave it a try. I had a discussion with my EDH playgroup last night about Magic Arena that stuck out in my head, and I wanted to bring it to a larger community with more perspective. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
